|
On March 19, the Carolinas chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (STC), an international organization dedicated to advancing the arts and sciences of technical communication, awarded the Southern Research Station (SRS) 2007 Forest Science in the South, the SRS annual report, a Distinguished and a Best of Show in the Technical Art annual report design category, with Rodney Kindlund and Carol Whitlock named as recipients. The SRS research magazine Compass won a Distinguished award in the Technical Publications category, with Zoë Hoyle, Rodney Kindlund, and Claire Payne named as recipients. The distinguished level of these awards allowed both publications to be submitted to the STC International competition; awards will be announced shortly.
Rodney Kindlund, art director for the SRS Science Delivery Group, has also received notice that Forest Science in the South has won an award in the annual report category from the National Association of Government Communicators (NAGC), a national not-for-profit professional network of Federal, State and local government employees who disseminate information within and outside government. The exact level of the award will be announced at the NAGC banquet in April.
