Current Research: |
| 1) long-term changes in stand structure and vegetation diversity following forest management practices; 2) analysis of physiological responses of understory tree species to gap formation; 3) competitive interactions of forest species following cutting, burning, and other forest disturbances; 4) physiological controls contributing to vegetation diversity and the importance of vegetation diversity to ecosystem function; and 5) assessment of the variation in vegetation dynamics across an environmental gradient and feedback linkages between microclimate, tree species composition, and responses to stress and other disturbances. |
