| Quantifying down deadwood (DDW) biomass in the North Carolina Coastal Plain and Piedmont prior to and after prescribed burning as part of a larger effort to model DDW in the southern US. and identify areas that are at a high risk of wildfire. Research also includes measuring carbon and water fluxes on three Coastal Plain sites as part of a larger effort to model these fluxes across different forest types and management regimes. |
