Fifth Interagency Conference on Research in the Watersheds (ICRW5)
March 3, 2015–March 5, 2015
The Interagency Conferences on Research in Watersheds (ICRW) brings together watershed scientists, stakeholders, and managers to share scientific advances and management strategies to sustain the country’s water resources. The goals are to better understand the factors driving change and associated impacts, and to incorporate societal needs and scientific uncertainties in the sustainable management of water resources.
For the 5th ICRW, we will take a national perspective on watershed science and management, while highlighting the coastal landscape, which is represented by the location of the conference in the South Carolina Lowcountry. Our water resources are vulnerable to increasing development and climate changes that combine to uniquely impact the management of watersheds.
Join us at this conference to see and share how science is being used to address the environmental and societal impacts that affect the sustainable management of water resources.
For the Fifth Interagency Conference on Research in the Watersheds, we will take a national perspective on watershed science, while highlighting the rich history of the Santee Experimental Forest north of Charleston. Charleston and Santee offer a microcosm of watershed science and management in the rapidly developing coastal landscape of the United States.
