Dear Colleague:

 

The Southern Forest Resource Assessment is progressing.  Last month, the Assessment Team met in Atlanta, Georgia to finalize Assessment Questions and to draft plans of work for each.  The Team was assisted by invited technical experts representing a variety of agencies and disciplines.  The public in attendance also provided very helpful input to the Team.

 

The products of that meeting (Draft Work Plans) are now posted on the Assessment’s web site www.srs.fs.fed.us/sustain for your information and review.  Team members will be refining their individual Plans during April and welcome your input during that time.  In order to have your comments fully considered, please submit them either via the web site or to:  Southern Forest Resource Assessment, c/o John Greis, at the above address by April 24, 2000.

 

Again, we encourage you to stay abreast of the Assessment by periodically visiting the project’s web site.  We will continue to employ it as our primary means of sharing information with you.
